It really set the bar for the whole fantasy film genre ( that honor could perhaps go to The Thief of Baghdad but that one didn't have Harryhausen's creatures ). "Jason and the Argonauts" is my dad's favorite film so we watch that one 1-2 times a year and never tire it. It's hard to pick a favorite Harryhausen picture. And yes, I agree....one of Herrmann's best scores! He loved using french horns in his music and this piece really showcased them - of course, the strings are lovely, too. The whole theme would make a fantastic ballet sequence. :-) The Metzinger Sistershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10728879307994086409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8799060793812204452.post-65378193533495807692022-02-05T18:03:24.401-05:002022-02-05T18:03:24.401-05:00One of my family's favorite fantasy movies. Bernard Hermmann's music for this one is my favorite score of his, particularly that lovely main theme.DKorenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05819702518388146971noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8799060793812204452.post-26709765721340963712022-02-05T17:47:58.957-05:002022-02-05T17:47:58.957-05:00Still one of the finest fantasy films ever made! Incredibly, I think Harryhausen and Schneer improved on the formula with Jason and the Argonauts. I love both films.Rick29https://www.blogger.com/profile/08358116647815569722noreply@blogger.com
