The Impossibly Difficult Name that Movie Game

It's a dark scene, but one that we know some fans will recognize in a snap. We're big fans of this film and we wouldn't recognize it all that quickly, but then we know we're not as clever as most of our audience.

If you are not familiar with the rules to the Impossibly Difficult Name that Movie game or the prize, click here. ( That's our way of saying we're too lazy to re-type the information! )

Good luck guessing!

Congratulations to The Tactful Typist for correctly guessing "The Scarlet Claw" ( 1946 ), one of the Basil Rathbone/Nigel Bruce Sherlock Holmes films. In this particular scene, the minister was approaching the church tower where the sound of mysterious bell tolls was emitting from.

    1. Thanks for guessing Mr. Hartzog! No one took a stab at this screenshot yet. You're on the right track ( an eerie track ) but that isn't the right answer. There's a killer in this film and he is pictured in the screenshot ( our computer seems to capture blurry screenshots though! ).

  2. Might it be The Verdict (1946)?

  3. This is from the film “The Scarlet Claw” (1944)!
I must thank Nitrate Diva who happened to discuss this film this past Sunday.
The benefit of reading many film blogs is that it can make me appear a much more savvy film viewer than I actually am!

    1. Congratulations! This one went five years unsolved, but that's the film alright - The Scarlet Claw. Way to go, Tactful Typist!
