Congratulations to Damsbo for correctly guessing "Francis of Assisi" ( 1961 ) starring Bradford Dillman, Stuart Whitman, and Dolores Hart. In this scene, Francis is armed for battle and comes to a river to let his horse drink water when he hears a voice calling him. This voice later tells him to build a church for the people of Assisi.
Shoot, I don't know, but I love that picture! The waterfall and the knight is a great combo.
ReplyDeleteAww, I thought for sure we had a winner when I saw a comment on this photo. It is a beautiful scene, isn't it now. If you look in the background you can see an old stone shrine...a hint that this wasn't filmed in America ( Although we certainly do have a few shrines dotted across the land ).
DeleteWell, if I was to guess, I'd pick "Knights of the Round Table" with Robert Taylor, only because the knight in the picture is so colorful and I remember very colorful knights in that movie! But I haven't seen that movie since high school, so... can't actually remember if this is from that. I would also think it was filmed over here, which would rule it out. It also reminds me that regardless, I'd like to see that movie again! Must see if I can add it to my netflix queue.
