In this 1947 publicity photo, Michael Redgrave is seen disembarking a train in Los Angeles. The actor, one of England's top ranking box-office favorites at the time, had just arrived in Hollywood for his first American film production Secret Beyond the Door, released by Universal Pictures. Little did he realize what a long and illustrious career he had ahead of him.

What a delightful picture! I adore Michael Redgrave. Sometimes when I'm watching The Lady Vanishes, I forget to look at anybody else. Wouldn't it be nice if TCM would show us The Captive Heart? Or have I missed it?
ReplyDeleteRedgrave was such a talented actor that I can't grasp that Gilbert ( Lady Vanishes ) and Mr. Crocker-Harris ( The Browning Version ) were played by the same actor! Yes, TCM should play The Captive Heart....and many other underrated British classics. I can't get enough of them.
