Lately we have been posting images with characters at a distance, and that could be impossibly difficult to recognize, so this time around we've got a plum ducky picture of a woman whom we're sure most film fans would instantly recognize. But remember, the idea of the game is to name the film...not the actor. Whoa-ho!
As always, if you are unfamiliar with the rules to the game or the prize, click here.
GAME OVER.
The Tactful Typist is the winner for correctly guessing Sailor of the King ( 1953 ) aka Single-Handed"starring Jeffrey Hunter. The marvelous English actress Joan Hickson had a brief part as the clerk at the hotel where Wendy Hiller and Michael Rennie check in for a romantic evening. Hickson would later find fame portraying the sleuth Miss Marple in the popular television series of the same name.

ReplyDeleteIt looks so familiar! Could it be "I See a Dark Stranger"?
ReplyDeleteThat is a very good guess ( and a good movie too! ), but no...this film is newer than that. The lady in this scene was known for playing amateur detectives.
DeleteLittle Miss Broadway, maybe.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, maybe not. Guess again!
DeleteMurder on a Honeymoon.
ReplyDeleteNow that is a really good movie! I'll have to watch it again. This screenshot is from a really good movie too, but not the same one. ;-)
DeleteThe Conquerers.
ReplyDeleteAnother film we never heard of. You really mention some obscure film titles, Mr. Hartzog! Nice try, but no dice.
DeleteWould that actress be Constance Collier?
ReplyDeleteOn the movie....Whirlpool, perhaps?
Good heavens! We missed your guess until now. No, it's not Constance Collier or the film Whirlpool, but thanks for trying. Next time we'll try not to wait six months before replying!
DeleteIsn't this the wonderful Joan Dickson in the 1953 film "Single-Handed"?
ReplyDeleteB-I-N-G-O! The wonderful Joan Hickson had a brief part in this very entertaining film. Congratulations!
