From the Archives: Four Wives ( 1939 )

Now here's a good-looking foursome...Rosemary Lane ( or is that Lola Lane? ) is standing with Jeffrey Lynn while Eddie Albert and Priscilla Lane have a seat on the bench. In this sequel to Four Daughters ( 1938 ), Priscilla was still grieving the death of her lover ( John Garfield ) but was happy to have an old beau - Jeffrey Lynn - come back into her life.

From the Archives is our latest series of posts where we share photos from the Silverbanks Pictures collection. Some of these may have been sold in the past, and others may still be available for purchase at our eBay store : http://stores.ebay.com/Silverbanks-Pictures

  1. I enjoyed all of the FOUR DAUGHTERS films, though the first was easily the best. DAUGHTERS COURAGEOUS, with much of the same cast, is also entertaining.

  2. I've seen JOHN GARFIELD in THE POSTMAN ALWAYS RINGS TWICE with LANA TURNER. Also GENTLEMAN'S AGREEMENT with GREGORY PECK and DOROTHY MCGUIRE. I really like Dorothy's acting. I think she should have received an OSCAR nomination for her role in A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN. I also think JOAN BLONDELL should have an OSCAR nom for her role as the sister to KATIE(Dorothy). CLASSIC TV FAN
