The End of the Affair (1955)

Van Johnson and Deborah Kerr are taking a quick break during the making of the romantic melodrama The End of the Affair (1955). This was several years before Kerr had her most famous affair with Cary Grant in An Affair to Remember (1957).

  1. I am pleased to say that I've seen this one! I really enjoyed it, more than I expected to, because I'm not the world's biggest Van Johnson fan. I thought he was excellent in this, though, as was Deborah Kerr. Very unique and interesting film.

By the way, ladies, while I'm here, I just wanted to let you know that I nominated you for a Sunshine Blogger Award. The post about the award is below -- congratulations!

    1. Thanks for the nomination, Karen! We'll try and actually answer the questions this time around - I'm usually late, too! They seem like they need a lot of thought, so I'll start thinking tonight. ;-)

Not many people have seen The End of the Affair so good for you for checking that one out! I love Van Johnson in the Esther Williams comedies so it always seems a little strange seeing him play a serious part, but another film starring Van that's worth checking out is Miracle in the Rain with Jane Wyman.... another mushy romance drama.
